Leadership Community, Powered by Women Leaders

When I look back at my life and career, I realize how much I have learned and continue to learn every day. From making choices and understanding their impacts to recognizing how family and childhood shape our life trajectories, and appreciating the power of mindset, there are countless pieces that influence our journeys. I feel a calling to share these learnings, particularly to inspire other women in their professional lives, encouraging them to be strong and stay strong together.

Here is my story in brief: I am Marilyn, born 54 years ago into a family of teachers in the east of The Netherlands. I had a happy childhood and attended college where, for five years, my father taught me Latin. It might seem unusual, but it felt completely normal to me, and he was an excellent teacher. At 18, after finishing college, I embraced adulthood and adventure by boarding a train to Paris, a bold move that marked the beginning of my independence.

This decision remains one of the boldest of my life. Whenever I feel insecure or anxious about a new step, I think back to that moment, which gives me the courage to leap forward.

Entering the working world was a journey where I started from scratch, like many women. With dreams that evolved over time, I built my career through various sales roles, eventually discovering my passion for Talent Management and helping others advance in their careers. I progressed from a sales representative to global leadership roles, often in male-dominated industries. My path had its ups and downs—each setback taught me invaluable lessons. Having supportive women around during challenging times would have made a significant difference, helping me to be stronger together.

That’s why I founded this community. It’s a space for learning and, more importantly, for networking and mutual support. In our private community, I will share more personal stories and invite you to join us. Here, you can share your own story, seek support, and find answers to your questions. This is my “why,” and I hope it helps you step up and realize your full potential.

With love and care,
Marilyn
